Classroom Information and Expectations
1) Students need to bring the following materials daily to class: pencils, a binder with
three dividers and line paper, and Chromebook with charger.
2) No food, drinks, gum, sunglasses, hairspray, or other beauty products allowed in
the classroom. Ne cell phone use in the classroom.
3) Students need to be in their assigned seat when the tardy bell rings. If students are
not in their assigned seat, students are marked tardy.
4) Students need to respect the property, ideas, and feelings, of their classmates.
5) Students cannot get up from their assigned seat or talk when the teacher is giving
direct instruction.(lecturing)
TARDIES:
Students are tardy if not in their assigned seat when the tardy bell rings. I will enforce Golden Valley’s tardy policy. The tardy policy is based on all tardies acquired for all periods. The consequences are based on the student’s tardies for the semester. Consult GV’s student handbook for the school’s tardy policy and consequences.
Absences:
Students are required to make up all the assignments when absent. Tests and assignments need to be completed within a couple of days. More time may be given for make-up work only if the teacher feels it is appropriate. The make-up work and exams might be different only in design, but not in content.
Classroom Passes: NO PASSES GIVEN TO STUDENTS
Students are allowed to go to the restroom on a limited basis, but they must pay back the time that they spent outside the classroom after school, lunch time, before school, etc., before getting another bathroom pass.
Grades:
Students for each grading period will receive a grade according to the points accumulated. The semester grade will consist of the total points accumulated throughout the semester. Every homework assignment will be graded and awarded points. Tests will be given at the end of each chapter or unit, and they are approximately worth between 50 and 100 points. Tests and quizzes will have an approximate value of 30% of semester grade. Homework assignments, classroom activities, projects, binder with notes and journal entries make up near 70% of semester grade.
Late Homework:
Late homework will be accepted only one to two days late. Two to three letter grades will be knocked away from the score of a late assignment. Students will not be allowed to make up assignments that are a week old.
The Grading Scale:
90%-100%= A
80%-89% = B
70%-79% = C
60%-69% = D
0%-59% = F
I feel that my grading policy gives everyone the opportunity to attain “A’s” and “B’s”. In this class, hard work will be rewarded with good grades.
LETS ALL HAVE A PRODUCTIVE AND JOYFUL YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
